By Air:
tourists_infoOver 20 international airlines fly to Pakistan from more than 40 countries. PIA-Pakistan International Airlines has direct flights from major cities in North America, Europe and the Far East.
Twice weekly PIA Flights take in the Central Asian Republics of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.On Arrival Pakistan’s International Airports have banks to change travelers’ cheques and foreign currency. You should always bargain with the taxi driver and agree on a fare before setting off.

Overland from China:
The Khunjerab Pass is open (weather permitting) from 1 May to 31 October for tours and to 15 November for individual travelers. Customs, immigration and health formalities at the border post, Sost, can be completed daily 9 to 11a.m. for outgoing travelers and up to 4 p.m. for incoming travelers. Daily PTDC and NATCO buses ply between Tashkurgan and Sost.

Overland from India:
The only land border open between India and Pakistan is at Wagah, between Amritsar and Lahore, open for foreigners seven days a week. Pakistani and Indian nationals are only allowed to cross the border by train.

Overland from Iran:
The border is open only at Taftan, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. Seven buses daily take 18 hours to get from Taftan to Quetta in Baluchistan. Five days a week an air-conditioned coach makes the same journey in 16 hours. The road from Taftan to Quetta crosses hot arid desert, so you will need enough food and drinking water for the journey. Petrol and diesel are only available at Nukkundi, Dalbandin and Nuskhi. Note that the road from Taftan to Quetta, and Quetta to Sukkur is the only one in Baluchistan open to foreign tourists without a special permit. All foreigners must obtain their Iranian visas from Islamabad.
